Pheasant at Sunset

In my eyes, pheasants are the most inspiring game bird in Missouri. Although I don’t hunt very often these days, I thoroughly enjoy watching pheasants in the wild. Seeing a pheasant striking rich colors against a wheat field motivates me to paint them. In addition, I love painting sunsets and sunrises. For this painting I combined the sunset as the background, with the pheasant poised ready for flight across the field into the darkness.
