This is my painting of the Massachusetts state bird and flower, which are the black-capped chickadee and mayflower. The chickadee is a cheerful bird with a pleasing call “chick-adee-dee-dee.” The mayflower is also known as the ground laurel. It is fragrant with pink or white and five petals. Massachusetts was admitted to the union on February 6, 1788 as the sixth state. This painting is part of my state birds and flowers collection.
