Ruby-crowned Kinglet in the forest

This is my acrylic painting of a ruby-crowned kinglet in the forest. The brilliant red crown of the male is usually hidden, but the male will raise it when he is excited, agitated or singing his territorial song. Kinglets are tiny songbirds with relatively large heads and almost no necks. They flick their wings almost constantly as they go.
