This is my acrylic painting of the Delaware state bird and flower, which are the blue hen and peach blossoms. Blue hen cocks were carried by Delaware Revolutionary war soldiers for entertainment during cockfights. Delaware has the reputation as the “Peach State” since they had so many orchards at one time. Delaware was admitted to the union on December 7, 1787 as the first state. This painting is part of my state birds and flowers collection.
