A great-tailed grackle perched in a tree

This is my acrylic painting of a male great-tailed grackle or Mexican grackle perched in a tree looking over his territory.  It has piercing yellow eyes, long legs, very long V-shaped tail and stout bill.   Look for the shimmer of the glossy iridescent colors on the feathers, which I have painted with a pearlescent paint to give more shine.  They are known for being intelligent, social, and problem-solving birds.
