Kansas City baseball since 1884

This painting of old baseball cards and scoreboard represents the history of professional baseball teams in Kansas City since 1884.  Starting in 1884 with the Unions baseball has been a long tradition of Kansas City sports.  The Cowboys joined the National League in 1886 and played in other leagues until 1903.  The Blues were a successful minor league team from 1886 to 1955 including time when they were the AAA team of the Yankees.  The Packers were in the Federal league in 1914-15.  The Monarchs were one of the most successful Negro League teams from 1920 to 1962.  The Athletics moved to Kansas City from 1955 to 1967.  The Royals have been a long running and popular KC team from 1969 to current.  The T-Bones has been in the Northern League since 2003.
