Devils Tower monument

This is my mixed media painting with watercolor and acrylics of the Devils Tower monument.  I used salt in the watercolor for special formations of the rocks.  This was the first United States national monument, established by President Theodore Roosevelt on Sept. 26, 1906.  The tower is sacred to several Native American tribes.  The monument has extra-terrestrial vibes having been featured in the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
